    About The Rainbow Room
    : Opening its doors in 1934, the Rainbow Room was a hotspot for the New York elite. John D. Rockefeller Jr was the restaurant's landlord and set out to create a dining experience unlike any other.
    At the time of its opening, the Rainbow Room was the highest elevated restaurant in the entire country. The elegant ambience attracted celebrities like Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, and Sir Lawrence Olivier. The Rainbow Room boasted exquisite Art Deco decor, revolving
    dance floor, and a live big band orchestra.
    In 2012, the restaurant was
    declared
    a landmark and was
    awarded for its outstanding interior architecture by the American Institute of Architects.
