Antique Vtg COME IN THE EVENING Poem English French Couple Needlepoint Footstool

You are bidding on a uniquely beautiful, vintage needlepoint footstool, which has the first portion of Thomas Osborne Davis’ THE WELCOME poem...Come in the evening, as well as, an ornate picture of a well-to-do couple in front of a nice house. I believe the wood is walnut, but not completely sure. The needlepoint is in excellent condition, no stains. There is some mild color fading in places and little strings. The wood has some dings and defects from age and use. The stool has no loose parts, very sturdy! Please look at all the pictures very carefully as they show every side of the stool and describe it perfectly. This item is clean and from a smoke free home.
Dimensions of the needlepoint stool cushion is 12x14” approximately. Heights is 11” approximately.
The complete history of the stool is unknown; however, it did sit in the same home for 1/2 a century. Not sure where or when it was made and/or purchased.
